Indian spices and spices products exports jumped to 13,167.89 crore during April-December 2017 to Rs on a volume of 797,145 tonnes, registering an increase of 20% in volume and 4% in rupee terms. In dollar terms, spices exports were pegged at $ 2,041.23 million compared to $ 1,880.02 million, recording an increase of nine per cent in value. Red Chilli exports came in at Rs 3,241.83 crore on a volume of 353,400 tonnes, recording a 6.30% drop in volume and 35% in value terms. Cumin recorded an increase of 15% in volume and 19% in value. Small cardamom registered the maximum export growth both in terms of value and volume during the period. A total of 4,180 tonnes, valued at Rs 456.01 crore, was exported.
