Economic Buzz: Australian Unemployment Rate Remains Almost Unchanged

The unemployment rate in Australia came in at a seasonally adjusted 5.6% in April, the Australian Bureau of Statistics said on Thursday. The rate stood at 5.5% in March. The Australian economy added 22,600 jobs last month – following the addition of 4,900 in the previous month. However, the the participation rate edged up to 65.6% from 65.5%.
