Economic Buzz: German Economy Expands At Slower Pace In Q1

German gross domestic product grew 0.3 percent sequentially, slower than the 0.6 percent expansion seen in the previous quarter, detailed data from Destatis showed Thursday. This was the weakest growth in more than a year and matched the provisional estimate published on May 15.On a yearly basis, calendar-adjusted GDP climbed 2.3 percent after expanding 2.9 percent in the fourth quarter. Similarly, price-adjusted GDP growth eased to 1.6 percent from 2.3 percent a quarter ago. The annual rates matched flash estimate.
