UK retail sales volume, including auto fuel, expanded 1.6 percent month-on-month in April, in contrast to a 1.1 percent fall in March, figures from the Office for National Statistics showed Thursday. Sales were forecast to climb 0.9 percent. Excluding auto fuel, retail sales volume increased 1.3 percent, reversing a 0.5 percent drop in March. On a yearly basis, retail sales including auto fuel, rose 1.4 percent in April after expanding 1.3 percent in March. Excluding auto fuel, sales volume advanced 1.5 percent versus 1.3 percent rise a month ago.
