Economic Buzz: New Zealand Building Permits Decrease In April

New Zealand residential building permits decreased in April, figures from Statistics New Zealand showed Wednesday. The number of new homes consented fell a seasonally adjusted 3.7 percent month-over-month in April, reversing a 13.0 percent spike in March. The number of stand-alone houses consented dropped 1.4 percent. In the year ended April 2018, in actual terms, 32,015 new dwellings were consented, the highest number since 2004.
