Agri Commodities Review: Activity Mixed, Monsoon Likely To Slowdown

Activity in the domestic agricultural commodities futures market saw a mixed undertone today with the calls of a slowdown in monsoons after a strong start supporting some counters. The monsoon rainfall is likely to enter weak phase in next week or so and buyers responded by latching onto a few of the beaten down agri counters today.

Good gains emerged in Chana. The supplies in Delhi market continued to be poor.

Turmeric futures slipped today on continued profit selling though as recent gains restricted fresh buying and tepid spot markets acted as a further depressive factor for the commodity.

Jeera futures also eased after hitting a contract high yesterday as buying was thin.

Wheat saw a muted trend on limited demand by millers and comfortable inventories with the government.
